The Fair Marian

The Fair Marian - *New Release*

Maid Marian has been mentioned in many tales of Robin Hood as being the beautiful maiden he pined for. Details of her personality have varied greatly from story to story - some describing her as a cunning noblewoman who disguised herself as a man in order to roam the countryside freely. Some described her as being a fair and gentle woman with a keen sense of virtue and a desire to see the wrongs in her country righted. In almost all of the stories however, she is an equal to Robin Hood - being both witty and courageous and serving the purpose of a greater good. --- Crisp white linen, teak, sandalwood, French vanilla, and carnations.

John Little

John Little

John Little was better known as Little John, given the nickname as a bit of a joke, as he was known as a very large man. He shows up in most of the Robin Hood tales and is well known for being Robin Hood's "right hand man" and the second in command of the Merry Men. When Robin and John met on a narrow bridge over a river and John demanded he pay a tax to pass, Robin refused and instead opted to fight the large man. Some versions of the story have Robin besting Little John in the battle and pushing him into the river before helping him out and asking him to join him. But, earlier versions have John as the victor, defeating Robin Hood and admiring the man’s bravery and skill, offering to join him. It is also said that he was the only one in Robin Hood's band who was present at Robin's death. --- Honeyed pipe tobacco, smooth, rich caramel, cedarwood and sage.

Robin of Loxley

Robin of Loxley

One of the most popular English folk heroes, Robin of Loxley (also known as Robin Hood) is renowned as being a man who fought against injustice from his government and who fought for the rights of his people. It was said that he would rob the rich to provide for the poor, who were being literally starved to death by unjust taxing and tyranny. A figure of romance, there aren't many who are unfamiliar with his tale of heroism and courage in the face of inequity. --- Sweet, smoky campfires, a forest of pine and moss, and a clean musk.
